The Trip is Set

Winter can be a spectacular time of year to visit Iceland. With it's unique light and surprisingly moderate climate, it can be a landscape photographer's dream. Continuing the series of photographic expeditions I have been leading in Iceland for the past several years, I have decided to take a group at what is perhaps my favorite time to visit this tiny, island nation in the far North Atlantic. This year's winter tour has been planned to coincide with the New Moon of February with hopes that with dark and clear skies, we'll have the best opportunity to witness the Aurora Borealis or "Northern Lights". With any luck, it will prove to be a trip of a lifetime and you're invited to follow along.

This trip will take this group of 8 photographers first to the Snafellsnes Peninsula in the west with its rugged coastline and unique mountains. Then we will head east and south through Pingvellir to Geysir and the great Gullfoss. Then we will continue into recently active volcano territory and along the south coast to Vik and from there explore the coastline and glacier region including the iceberg filled glacial pool, Jokusarlon.

It's going to be a great trip and I hope you'll join Byron, Tina, Mike, Catherine, Daniela, Barron and me on this great adventure. The trip begins January 31, 2011 and I hope you'll be there!
